Célia Joaquim-Justo is Associate Professor at the University of Liège. Her work is centered on the study of the pollution in feshwater ecosystems.
She has studied carbon and micropollutant (PCBs) transfers within planktonic foodwebs, including microbial networks, in the Meuse River taken as model of a large river ecosystem (collaboration with Prof J.P. Descy, FUNDP and Prof. P. Servais, ULB).
She has also studied mercury transfert in planktonic foodchains of lakes in Northern USA (collaboration with Prof. C. Folt and C. Chen, Dartmouth College, USA ).
More recently she is developpingstudies on the impact of xenobiotics on the sexual reproduction of invertebrates (rotifers, mollusks, gammarids) to determine whetheri these organisms are susceptible to endocrine disruption (collaboration with Prof. T.W. Snell, Georgia Institute of Technology, USA and Prof. L. Lagadic).
